REMOVAL OF RADIUM, IRON AND MANGANESE WITH FLAT SHEET MEMBRANES

Drinking water is typically sourced from Deep Ground Water where Iron, Manganese and Radium are present in the feed. Iron and Manganese are precipitated by oxidation while the Radium is absorbed by Hydrous Manganese Oxide (HMO). The UF Flat Sheet Membranes filtrate this prior to the RO treatment with highest flux rate for any membrane material. This enables an excellent utilization of the RO membranes.

LiqTech's ceramic membranes made of Silicon Carbide (SiC) can also replace sand filters, cartridge filters and traditional polymer/ceramic membranes.The potential for SiC membranes in the drinking water production is diverse and the benefits numerous.
